Following is an excerpt of what Our President posted concerning Memorial Day 2020.
“Since the first shots fired in the Revolutionary War, Americans have answered the call to duty and given their lives in service to our Nation and its sacred founding ideals. As we pay tribute to the lives and legacies of these patriots on Memorial Day, we also remember that they sacrificed to create a better, more peaceful future for our Nation and the world. We recommit to realizing that vision, honoring the service of so many who have placed love of country above all else.
As Americans, we will always defend our freedom and our liberty. When those principles are threatened, we will respond with uncompromising force and unparalleled vigor. Generation after generation, our country’s finest have defended our Republic with honor and distinction. Memorials, monuments, and rows of white crosses and stars in places close to home like Arlington, Virginia and Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, as well as far-flung battlefields in places like Flanders Field in Belgium and Busan in Korea, will forever memorialize their heroic actions, standing as solemn testaments to the price of freedom. We will never take for granted the blood shed by these gallant men and women, as we are forever indebted to them and their families.”
This weekend we pause to remember, recognize, and reflect on all the men and women of all branches of Military Service. We are truly thankful for their service and sacrifice.
Following are some quotes President Reagan referred to on Memorial Day messages:
“I don’t have to tell you how fragile this precious gift of freedom is. Every time we hear, watch, or read the news, we are reminded that liberty is a rare commodity in this world.”
“Today, the United States stands as a beacon of liberty and democratic strength before the community of nations. We are resolved to stand firm against those who would destroy the freedoms we cherish. We are determined to achieve an enduring peace—a peace with liberty and with honor. This determination, this resolve, is the highest tribute we can pay to the many who have fallen in the service of our Nation.”
“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We did not pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”
This year we are reminded just how fragile our freedoms are and how quickly things can turn to threaten the most basic freedoms we hold so dear to our hearts.
The last snippet I sent out was the concern of essential verses non-essential. I am grateful for our presidents stand on Friday May 22 regarding churches across America and their being essential. It would certainly appear the churches were under attack in several states, California being one of them. Over the past 30 days a multitude of churches joined in unity together and determined to draw a line on May 31, 2020, that the doors of the churches would reopen regardless the cost. We are one of those churches. We realize our freedom of religion has been under attack and we will not stand down and allow the freedoms our forefathers fought for, to be taken away.
Along with the war that has been declared on a virus that we can not see, there has been a spiritual war being fought against foe we cannot see.
The Bible says in Ephesians 6:12 (KJV)
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of
this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Spiritual wickedness and rulers of darkness would love to win a war against the church, to wear them down and to silence them. But there are saints, prayer warriors, those who have been standing in the gap, saying, “devil, enough is enough”.
I am grateful for all those in the Kingdom of God (God’s Army), who have been fighting against our adversary.
Tremendous breakthrough is coming!
A great awakening is coming!
It has been my prayer throughout this time that God would bring the church world out of slumber and cause a might army of God to arise. The awakening of a might giant is at hand.
Throughout this past few months Lola and I have had a number of communications with the younger generation that used to be committed to the local church, reaching out to us, encouraged by the snippets of hope and reconnecting. I anticipate seeing a change in their spiritual lives, and an awakening. While the enemy has been on the attack, God has set up an ambush against him. God is still in control.
I am glad I am in the Lords Army. I am glad you are also.
