Our everyday lives have been interrupted by chaos and uncertainty. In a matter of a few days our lives have been turned upside down and now spinning out of control. It is easy to see the fear and panic of those in the world. God has not given us a spirit of fear. What he does provide for us is peace during the storm.
Peace, Peace Wonderful Peace
Far away in the depths of my spirit tonight
Rolls a melody sweeter than psalm;
In celestial strains it unceasingly falls
O’er my soul like an infinite calm.
Peace, peace, wonderful peace,
Coming down from the Father above!
Sweep over my spirit forever, I pray
In fathomless billows of love!
What a treasure I have in this wonderful peace,
Buried deep in the heart of my soul,
So secure that no power can mine it away,
While the years of eternity roll!
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.
In peace I will lie down and sleep,
for you alone, Lord,
make me dwell in safety.
You will keep in perfect peace
those whose minds are steadfast,
because they trust in you.
Great peace have those who love your law,
and nothing can make them stumble.
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”
Amid all the chaos we are facing in our lives today, don’t grab fear but grab onto the peace of God that passes all understanding. Allow God’s peace to be applied to your lives.
